What is a LinkAd?
Posted by Mitzi Mitchell on 02 August 2008 12:02 AM
A LinkAd is a static html text link ad with an anchor text and short description, the anchor text being the keyword/phrase that will be hyperlinked back to the advertiser site.

LinkAds can be found published anywhere on a publisher site from the sidebar, footer or sometimes within the content of the page.

The true power of LinkAds is their ability to boost your page's position in the search engine results pages. The internet is run like a popularity contest -  the more votes your site can get from other sites, the more popular you are deemed. As LinkAds help increase your "votes" or "backlinks" your site will continue to rise in the natural search engine results pages. That means higher visibility for you.
